Another one of my latest projects has been released to the public regarding the Toronto Transit Commission’s latest Easier Access program. Of the 69 current subway stations, only 31 are accessible to people with disability. The TTC’s plan is to make the remaining 38 stations accessible by including elevators that go to platform level. My task was to model the storefront of the existing Loblaws and insert the updated entrance and street signage pylon. Aiming for realism, I recreated everything from the uneven sidewalk to the LCBO signs, and the bicycle bars. Please note however that I did not model the cars featured in the renders. Everything was modelled in 3ds Max 2013, rendered with mental ray, and post-processed in Photoshop. I had a total of one and a half weeks to do St Clair West, as well as Ossington station. I will mention Google Streetview was a great help when trying to model real scenes and determine spatial relationships when CAD drawings aren’t enough.
