Apartment Update

I’ve added several new things including a knife stand, a bowl of limes and tomatoes, pendant lighting, and a coffee table.  Below are the links to the lighting, TV media center, and table, but note I had to change the perforated metal casing in the pendants to a frosted glass to avoid an interesting shadow cast.

pot lights seem a bit bright but overall looks great! how did you make that green glass shader on the coffee table? how long did it take to render?

This took about 2 hours to render (though I’m confused as to the time since it hasn’t taken that long before – perhaps its the pendants, or the added high-poly kitchen tools?). For the glass, I just made a simple flattened box, applied a clear glass A&D material for the top and bottom with Rounded Corners set to 0.003m and Blend Materials checked on. Then for the edges I copied the same clear material but set the refraction material to a dark teal and set it to have color at a Max distance of 6m of the same color. I also put on the Rounded Corners set to 0.003m and Blend Materials checked on to help simulate a chamfered edge. I’ve included 2 screenshots on the class material to this post. 🙂
